Wagner Vineyards called 2010 an "overall extremely cooperative growing season" and the cooperation seems to have paid off for this winery from Seneca Lake. Wagner Rieslings in the past were always clean and crisp with a hint of florals and minerality and the 2010 Dry Riesling has a nice mineral character to it.
Pale lemon color. Youthful and refreshing aroma of citrus and green pear, with a hint of minerals and florals. It is quite dry on the palate, with medium(+) acidity and medium alcohol and body. Medium intensity of grapefruit, pear and mineral flavors. Medium length with a nice perfumed and slightly peppery finish. Drink now through 2015.
A balanced Riesling that will go well with a variety of cheeses, any kind of fish (and particularly the heavier and oily ones) as well as any white meat fish. At $13 this is quite a good value Riesling.
