Pale lemon color. At first, fermentation notes dominate the aroma. Gradually, peach fruit and minerality appear on the nose with a whiff of smoke. Very typical, wonderfully earthy Steinmetz overall. Sweet, with crisp acidity on the palate. The Herrenberg is quite spicy, thus giving it more body and weight than the low alcohol would suggest. Beautifully balanced by peach and mandarin flavors. Medium(+) length with a mineral finish. A very good Riesling, balanced yet nervous. Drink now through 2025.
