The aroma of the Lahoma Riesling is very pure and mineral at first. Slowly herbal smells are noticeable, a hint of fresh elderflower. This Riesling is sweet, but less so than the Riesling taste profile on the back label suggests. The high acidity balances the sweetness elegantly and makes this Riesling rather taste off-dry. It's not dry, but it isn't sweet either.

The herbal aspect of the aroma is more pronounced on the palate. One can taste elderflower and apples, slightly spicy and with a good mineral background. Medium length with a nice soft finish. Drink now through 2015.

A food-friendly Riesling which I chose to drink just by itself. Its strong acidic and mineral backbone along with light fruit flavors and elderflower freshness makes this wine a fine example of what the Finger Lakes can do with Riesling. It is light and playful, refreshing and appetizing. Essential Finger Lakes with its floral lightness embodying the region like the newt stretching over the five lakes as depicted in the logo.

In short:
Very good
Subheader:

A single vineyard Riesling from the Finger Lakes that perfectly embodies the winery's logo of a newt stretching over the five lakes.

Nice
