Henrik Möbitz 2006 Kanzel Pinot Noir

Medium ruby color. Pronounced intensity of strawberry, mint, black cherry, rose petals and licorice. Dry on the palate. Medium amount of silky tannins, medium alcohol and body. Medium(+) acidity. Medium(+) intensity of raspberry, pepper, smoke. Long length. Drink now through 2020.

Just like in 2005, the Kanzel Pinot Noir 2006 from Henrik Möbitz is a wonderfully elegant wine. The berry fruit is very pronounced, less earthy than the 2005 and more influenced by the oak barrel, although it's definitely not a New World style of wine, if you know what I mean. It adds a lushness, but does not dominate. It is a very complex wine which does not need 14% alcohol in order to make a statement. At 12% its statement is tacid, but firm. And lasting.

In short:
Very good

Henrik Moebitz Pinot Noir

Where did you find his wines?

Whenever I am back in

Whenever I am back in Germany. Unfortunately, Moebitz is still not available in the US as far as I know.
