Medium straw color. Medium intensity of quince, apple, white pepper and tulips. Off-dry on the palate, with high acidity and medium alcohol. Medium(+) intensity of black cherry, tangerine, bitter grapefruit and cloves. Medium(+) length with a mineral finish.
Quite a powerful Riesling with an elegant touch of bitterness on the palate. It has the typical Finger Lakes floral character but the 2008 shows an unusual boldness on the palate. The floral aroma betrays the depth of the palate. Dr. Konstantin Frank's Rieslings are always very elegant and balanced, but the 2008 Semi Dry is the most concentrated I have tasted so far. This Riesling has great potential to develop in the bottle.
In short:
Very good
