This entry-level Riesling from Dr. Konstantin Frank's second label comes in a blue bottle, which is already a clear message: don't expect anything fancy. Obviously this is trying to appeal to customers who normally reach for blue-tinted glass bottles on the shelf like Blue Nun. So I do not expect anything fancy.
Pale lemon color. A youthful nose, very refreshing, with a medium intensity of apricot, grapes, citrus fruit and pepper. Off-dry on the palate. Overall a pleasantly light wine: medium acidity, low alcohol, light body. The fruit intensity is a bit shy: slightly flowery, pink grapefruit and apricot. Medium length. Drink within the next 2 years. An easy-drinking Riesling, which is quite grapey on the nose and has a nice peppery touch. Definitely better than the blue bottle suggests.
