Hirsch 2008 Riesling Zöbing

in

Medium lemon color. Medium intensity of citrus and green pear aromas with a hint of minerality. Dry, with high acidity and medium alcohol. Medium intensity of grapefruit and green pear. Medium(-) length.

Maybe Hirsch's 2008 Riesling Zöbing needs a couple more years in bottle, but right now it reminds me a bit of Penn Station where chaotic announcements make sure that nobody really knows which track they are supposed to go to. The 2008 Zöbing feels a bit disjointed, equally forlorn. It lacks direction and surrenders mid-way. The aroma promises more than the palate can hold. A decent, but not particularly memorable Riesling.
