You don't have to taste a wine in order to love it. Sniffing suffices. Just like we take great pleasure in the fragrance of a rose and without wanting to eat it. The 2007 Gewurztraminer from Baden producer Henrik Möbitz is such a wine.

The aroma is imbued with the sweet scent of apple flowers, it is full with ripe peach, honey and delicate (!) spices. Everything is so balanced, so casual and natural and almost playful that I can't stop putting my nose into the glass. A bliss of an aroma!

There is a bit of sweetness, but far less than what one expect from a Gewürztraminer Auslese (select harvest) with only 12.5% alcohol. The ripe citrus fruit flavors are well balanced by just the right amount of acidity in this very fine wine.

In short:
Very good
