This Sauvignon Blanc comes from South Styria in Austria.
Pale lemon core gradually extending to a thin watery rim. Youthful nose with a medium intensity of elderflower aromas, minerality and creamy peach, black pepper and grapefruit. Dry on the palate, medium(+) acidity. Medium(+) body, high alcohol. Medium(+) intensity of grapefruit with freshly ground coarse pepper, quite spicy, the elderflower and the minerality still shining through. Medium length with a slightly alcoholic finish.
The interplay of the strong mineral and spice aspects with the more floral and citrus fruit flavors is very exciting. Drink through 2013.
