Atwater Estate Vineyards' winemaker Vincent Aliperti had picked the grapes for the very warm 2010 vintage two weeks earlier than usual in order to retain the acidity in the grapes.
Pale, almost watery lemon color. Medium intensity of citrus fruit, hay and candied pear aroma. Dry on the palate with a very crisp acidity. Medium alcohol and body. Medium intensity of citrus flavors, pear and a dash of minerality. Medium length with a peppery finish. Drink now through 2013.
Very lively Riesling, fruit-forward, linear. And just when I thought that that's it comes that nice spicy touch towards the end that makes me raise my glass again. Invigorating and refreshing. Dangerous summer wine.
